4.4 STARTING THE TRACTOR
Lower the parking brake (N° 18 fig. 1)
Disengage the clutch by pushing pedal (N° 27 fig. 1).
Keeping the clutch unnecessarily disengaged causes thrust bearing wear.
Select the speed range as shown below.
4.4.1 For 8+8 speed models with reverse shuttle
Gearbox with 8 forward gears and 7 reverse gears, driven through a reverse
shuttle group with a synchronized selector, controlled by a gear lever under the
steering wheel (N° 32 fig.1).
4-speed synchronised gearbox controlled by gear lever (N° 17 fig.1).
2-speed central final drive (low, high) with sliding gears, selected with lever (N°
28 fig.1).
Choose the desired range with lever (N° 28 fig.1).
Positions: fig.5.
N = Neutral
L = Low
H = High
Engage the required speed using lever (N°17 fig.1) in the combinations
indicated in fig.6.
The following positions can be obtained with lever (N° 32 fig. 1) (see fig.7):
N = Neutral
A = Forward running
R = Reverse running
Selection of the reverse gear or the consequent selection of the forward
gear must always be made with the engine idling and the wheels at a
standstill.
4.4.2 For 16+8-speed models with Creeper
(Supplied for the 3060V Star model only),
16-speed gearbox (8 standard + 8 with creeper) and 8 reverse gears (4 standard
and 4 with creeper), driven through a 2-speed final drive group (standard –
creeper) with sliding gears, selected with lever (N° 16 fig.1).
4-speed, synchronised, gearbox group controlled by gear lever (N° 17 fig.1)
3-speed, central final drive (low, high, reverse) with sliding gears, selected with
lever (N° 28 fig.1).
Select the type of range with the final drive control lever (N° 28 fig.1).

L = Low
V = High
R = Reverse
