Setting Your Preferences
DISPLAYS
Orientation
Keeps your screen right-side up when you rotate your camera.
To learn more, see Locking the Screen Orientation (page 23).
Rear Screen Saver
Set the rear screen saver to 1, 2 (default), 3, or 5 minutes. Choose
Never to leave your screen on.
Heads Up: The camera buttons and Voice Control still work even
when the screen is o.
Front Screen Saver
Set the front screen saver to 1, 2, 3, or 5 minutes. You can also choose
Never or Match Rear (default) to sync with the rear screen saver.
Brightness
Use the slider to adjust your screen’s brightness.
Rear Screen Grid
Use a grid on the rear touch screen to frame your shot.
LANGUAGE
Choose the language that appears on the camera.
DATE + TIME
Use to manually adjust the time and date. Both are automatically
updated when you connect your camera to the GoPro app.
Date Format
This is set automatically based on the language that you chose at
setup. You can also change it manually here.
Time Zone
Set your camera's time zone.
Daylight Savings Time
Turn daylight savings time on if you are in a region that is currently
observing daylight savings time. Your camera's clock will set itself one
hour ahead. Turn daylight savings time o when daylight savings time
is over to return to standard time.
MODS
Max Lens Mod
Set whether you're using your GoPro with Max Lens Mod 2.0 (name in
blue on the side of the lens) or the original Max Lens Mod (name in white
on the side of the lens).
Heads Up: Be sure to use the correct setting based on the Max Lens
Mod you have. Using the incorrect setting will result in distorted footage.
Media Mod
Choose the type of external microphone you’re connecting
to Media Mod.
