Why do the packings on my Graco Hydra-clean 1535 fail frequently?
    • R
      Randall MunozSep 9, 2025
Frequent or premature failure of packings in your Graco Pressure Washer can be due to several reasons. Check for scored, damaged, or worn plungers and replace them if necessary. Ensure there's proper filtration on the pump inlet plumbing to prevent abrasive material from entering. Verify that the inlet water temperature doesn't exceed 160°F (70°C). Avoid modifying any factory-set adjustments to prevent overpressurizing the pump. Clean or replace a partially plugged or damaged tip. Never run the pump for more than 10 minutes without spraying, and always ensure the pump has a water supply.

Why is there water on the oil side of my Graco Hydra-clean 1535 pump?
    • D
      Dr. Tammy MurphySep 14, 2025
If you find water on the oil side of the pump in your Graco Pressure Washer, it could be due to a few reasons. Humid air might be condensing inside the crankcase, in which case you should change the oil. It could also be caused by worn packings, so install new packings. Another possibility is leaking oil seals, which would require installing new oil seals.

What causes strong surging at the inlet and low pressure on the discharge side of my Graco Hydra-clean 1535 Pressure Washer?
    • T
      travisyoungSep 16, 2025
Strong surging at the inlet and low pressure on the discharge side of your Graco Pressure Washer may be caused by foreign particles in the inlet or discharge valve, or worn inlet and/or discharge valves. Clean or replace the valves to resolve this issue.
