How to prime Graco MAGNUM PROJECT PAINTER PLUS Paint Sprayer?

  To prime your Graco Paint Sprayer, first, ensure the Prime/Spray Valve is in the PRIME position. Check that the inlet screen is free from clogs and the suction tube is fully immersed in the fluid. If these steps don't work, remove the suction tube from the paint and prime the pump using water or a solvent-based flushing fluid. If the inlet valve check ball is stuck, remove the suction tube and use a pencil to dislodge it, or try Power Flushing the sprayer. Also, check for and tighten any leaks in the suction tube connection. If the fluids you're using are viscous, try momentarily turning the Power Switch off and on to slow the pump.

  If your Graco Paint Sprayer pump cycles but doesn't build pressure, start by priming the pump. Make sure that the inlet screen is clean and the suction tube is fully immersed in the paint. Check the suction tube for any leaks and tighten the connection if necessary. If you find cracks or damage, replace the suction tube.

  If your Graco Paint Sprayer only dribbles or spurts paint when triggered, first, increase the pressure by slowly turning the Pressure Control Knob clockwise. If that doesn't work, unclog the spray tip. Also, check and clean the spray gun fluid filter. If the spray tip is too large or worn, replace it.

  If your Graco Paint Sprayer motor doesn't run, even when the power switch is on and the sprayer is plugged in, start by turning the pressure control knob clockwise to increase the pressure setting. Check if the electric outlet is providing power by trying a different outlet or testing the outlet with a working device. Reset the building circuit breaker or replace the fuse if necessary. Inspect the sprayer power cord for any damage and replace it if damaged. If paint or water is frozen in the pump, unplug the sprayer and place it in a warm area to thaw completely before attempting to start it.

  If your Graco Paint Sprayer can't achieve a good spray pattern even at maximum pressure, check that the reversible spray tip is in the SPRAY position. If the spray tip is too large for your sprayer, select a smaller one. Also, make sure the inlet screen is clean, and the material you're using isn't too thick; if it is, thin it out. If you're using an extension hose, try removing it.

  If your Graco Paint Sprayer motor is hot and running intermittently, ensure that the vent holes in the enclosure are not blocked by obstructions or overspray, and make sure the sprayer is open to air. If you're using an extension cord, it might be too long or not heavy enough gauge, so replace it. Check that you are not using an unregulated electrical generator with excessive voltage. The sprayer requires 220-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz.
