What to do if fluid is spitting from my Graco Paint Sprayer?
    • C
      castilloemilyAug 1, 2025
If the Graco Paint Sprayer is spitting fluid, it might be due to air in the pump or hose. Ensure all fluid connections are tight and cycle the pump slowly during priming. Another potential cause is a partially clogged spray tip; clear the tip to resolve this. Also, check if the fluid supply is low or empty, refill it, and prime the pump, ensuring you check the fluid supply often to prevent the pump from running dry.

Why is the pump output low on my Graco Ultimate NOVA 395 PC Paint Sprayer?
    • M
      Misty WarrenAug 6, 2025
If the pump output on your Graco Paint Sprayer is low, start by checking the spray tip for wear and replace it if needed, after relieving the pressure. Ensure the spray tip isn't clogged by relieving the pressure and cleaning it. Also, verify that the paint supply is adequate; refill and reprime the pump if necessary. A clogged intake strainer can also cause low output, so remove, clean, and reinstall it. Additionally, a clogged or dirty fluid filter or tip filter can restrict flow, so clean the filter. Lastly, inspect the intake valve ball and piston ball to ensure they are seating properly. Remove the intake valve and clean it, checking for nicks on the balls and seats, and replace if necessary. Remember to strain paint before using to remove particles that could clog the pump.

      Erin LeeAug 22, 2025
If the Graco Paint Sprayer motor runs but the pump doesn't stroke, it could be due to a damaged connecting rod assembly; replace it. Alternatively, the gears or drive housing may be damaged; inspect the drive housing assembly and gears for damage and replace if necessary.

Why does my Graco Paint Sprayer stop after running for a few minutes?
    • T
      Tina MorganAug 27, 2025
If the Graco Paint Sprayer operates for only 5 to 10 minutes and then stops, the pump packing nut might be too tight. Loosen the pump packing nut and check for leaks around the throat. If necessary, replace the pump packings.

What causes low pump output in a Graco Ultimate NOVA 395 PC Paint Sprayer?
    • D
      danielmooreNov 10, 2025
If the pump output on your Graco Paint Sprayer is low, pump rod damage may be the cause, in that case repair the pump. Low stall pressure can also be a factor; turn the pressure knob fully clockwise, ensuring it's properly installed to allow the full clockwise position. If the problem persists, replace the pressure transducer. Check for worn or damaged piston packings and replace them if necessary. Similarly, inspect the O-ring in the pump for wear or damage and replace it. A material-packed intake valve ball can also cause issues; clean the intake valve. If you're using heavy materials, a large pressure drop in the hose could be the problem; reduce the overall length of the hose. Also, make sure the extension cord is the correct size.
