Set the machine as
illustrated above.
Turn the stitch length dial to
suit the fabric.
Shell stitch (A)
For decorative edges.
Suitable for edges on
sheer, fine and stretch
fabrics.
The larger stitch should go
just over the edge of the
fabric to create the shell
effect.
Greek stitch (B)
For flat joining seams,
sewing on elastic, visible
hems.
This stitch can be used for
firm, thicker fabrics.
Bridging stitch (C)
For seams, place mats,
tablecloths.
Decorative joining seam for
a fagoted effect. Gathering
with cord or shirring elastic.
Crescent stitch (D)
For a delicate edge finish along the edge of fabric.
This stitch looks best with a stitch length set between “0.5” to “1”.
