Overview

The device is a photovoltaic inverter designed for converting direct current (DC) from solar panels into alternating current (AC) for grid connection. It is suitable for various residential and commercial solar power systems.

Function Description

The inverter facilitates the conversion of DC power generated by photovoltaic modules into AC power for feeding into the public grid. It incorporates multiple maximum power point (MPP) trackers to optimize energy harvesting from solar panels, even under varying irradiance conditions. The device supports active power control through smart meters, current transformers (CTs), or ripple control signal receivers, allowing for flexible grid integration and compliance with local grid requirements. It also includes inverter demand response modes (DRMS) and an optional Arc-Fault Circuit Interrupter (AFCI) for enhanced safety and grid management. The AFCI function detects and interrupts electrical arcs, preventing potential fire hazards. The inverter features an OLED display and touch buttons for user interaction, allowing users to monitor system status, view error messages, and configure settings. Communication and monitoring capabilities are provided via RS485 and USB-A ports, enabling remote monitoring and data logging.

Maintenance Features

Maintenance involves regular checks and cleaning to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

  • Checking Heat Dissipation: Periodically assess heat dissipation and clean the heat sink if necessary to prevent output power reduction due to high temperatures.
  • Cleaning the Inverter: Clean the enclosure lid, display, and LEDs with a wet cloth after turning off AC and DC breakers and allowing the inverter to shut down. Avoid using solvents or abrasives.
  • Checking the DC Disconnect: Regularly inspect the DC Disconnect and cables for visible damage or discoloration. Annually, cycle the rotary switch of the DC Disconnect five times to clean contacts and prolong electrical endurance.
  • Troubleshooting: The inverter displays error messages on the OLED screen for malfunctions. Users are advised to provide specific information (serial number, model, error message, grid/DC input voltage, problem description, environmental conditions) when contacting support.
  • System Error Codes: A comprehensive list of warning and error codes is provided, along with suggested actions for troubleshooting, such as checking wiring, restarting the inverter, or contacting the manufacturer.
  • AFCI Operation: In case of an AFCI trip (Error 200), users are instructed to turn off DC and AC switches, perform troubleshooting on the PV system (checking open circuit voltage), and then restart the inverter by turning the DC and AC switches ON.
