Gate Valve Indication
Fire Pump Status Monitoring
The gate valve open position (i.e ready to allow water to pass through the valve in the event of fi re) is the
normal default valve position and can be indicated on the panel with the red fi re LED. If the gate valve is
closed, the zone fault LED is illuminated. The zone will operate as follows:
Gate valve open, via 3K9 resistor;
• Zone fi re LED continuously on
• General Fire LED off
• Internal buzzer will not operate
• Fire routing and other fi re outputs will not operate
• Alarm sounder circuits will not operate
• The indication is non latching
Gate valve closed, via 470 resistor;
The panel will operate as per open or short circuit fault except that;
• General Fault LED remains off
• Fault output routing will not operate
Valve out of service, via 4K7 EOL only;
This equates to a quiescent condition and the zone will give no indication.
Fire pump status monitoring requires 2 zones to monitor one pump. The zones are confi gured as follows:
ZONE A - Set to Gate Valve Indication
The fi rst zone will monitor the pump power supply healthy / fault condition.
Pump Healthy;
• Zone fi re LED on, exactly the same as the valve open signal above
Pump Power Supply Fault:
• Zone fault LED on, exactly the same as the valve closed signal above
