Function Description

The Hampton Bay Sinclair 44-inch ceiling fan is designed to provide air circulation and illumination for residential spaces. It features a multi-speed motor for adjustable airflow and an integrated light kit for ambient lighting. The fan is operated via a pull chain, allowing users to control both fan speed and light. It also includes a reverse switch for seasonal operation, enabling the fan to either create a cooling breeze or recirculate warm air.

Mounting: Designed for UL-listed outlet boxes marked "FOR FAN SUPPORT." Can be installed on a standard or sloped ceiling (up to 18° from horizontal) with a downrod. A longer downrod may be needed for steeper sloped ceilings.
Safety: Requires installation by a qualified licensed electrician in accordance with National Electrical Code "ANSI/NFPA 70-1999" and local electrical codes. Must be mounted with a minimum of 7 ft. clearance from the trailing edge of the blades to the floor. Not compatible with solid-state fan speed control devices.

Usage Features

Pull Chain Operation: The fan speed and light are controlled by separate pull chains.
- Fan Speed: 1 pull - High, 2 pulls - Medium, 3 pulls - Low, 4 pulls - Off.
- Light: On or Off.
Reverse Switch: A reverse switch located on the surface of the switch housing allows for seasonal adjustment of airflow.
- Warm Weather (Counterclockwise Direction): Creates a cooling effect, pushing air downward.
- Cool Weather (Clockwise Direction): Recirculates warm air, pulling air upward.
Mounting Options: Supports standard and sloped ceiling installations. A longer downrod may be required for sloped ceilings exceeding 18 degrees.
Light Kit: Integrated light kit provides illumination, using 13-watt compact fluorescent bulbs.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning: The fan should be cleaned with a dry dust cloth or a lightly dampened cloth. Water or detergents should not be used on the fan or blades.
Screw Checks: All setscrews, blade attachment screws, and blade arm screws should be checked and retightened periodically to ensure secure connections and prevent wobbling.
Blade Balancing: If the fan wobbles, check that all blade and blade arm screws are secure and that blade levels are equal. A blade balancing kit is included for further adjustment if wobbling persists.
Electrical Connections: Periodically check all electrical connections, including wire nuts, to ensure they are tight and secure.
Lubrication: The motor features permanently-lubricated sealed ball bearings, eliminating the need for additional lubrication.
Finish Care: For brass finishes, a light coat of furniture polish or shoe polish can be applied to protect the finish. Small scratches can be covered with a light application of shoe polish.
Annual Maintenance: Check support connections, brackets, and blade attachments once a year to ensure they are secure. Remove any loose movement from the fan from the ceiling.
