Why is my HAMPTON BAY YG188-NI Fan so noisy?

  Several factors can cause a noisy fan. Ensure all motor housing screws are snug, and that the screws attaching the fan blade arm to the motor hub are tight. Also, check that wire nut connections are not rattling against each other or the interior wall of the switch housing. Allow a 24-hour 'breaking-in' period for new fans, as most noises disappear during this time. If using a ceiling light kit, verify the glassware and light bulb are tightly secured. Confirm there's a small gap between the ceiling and the canopy, and that the ceiling box is secured with rubber isolator pads between the mounting bracket and outlet box.

Allow the fan to run for 10 minutes to self-adjust after proper installation. If wobbling persists, check blade level: measure from each blade's center to a fixed point on the ceiling. Deviations should not exceed 1/8 inch.
