CONNECTING TAPE
EQUIPMENT
The 730 provides facilities for both
re cording and play back of tape programs
to and from open-reel, cassette or ei ght-
track ca rtridge equipmen t. Using the
signal cabl es provided with yo ur tape
deck or recorder, connect the left and
right channel TAPE 1 receptacles (und er
the bracket labeled OUTPUTS) on the
rear pan el of the 730 to the corresponding
input receptacl es of you r ta pe equipment.
The 730 provid es outputs f or two tape
recorders.
If you r open-reel or cassette equipment
offers tru e off-tape monitoring faci li tie s,
the left and right channel ou tput
receptacles of your tape equipment
sh ou ld be connected to the
corresponding tap monitor (TAPE MON-
1, TAPE MON-2) re ceptacles und er the
bracket labeled INPUTS. Most cassette
recorders and many open-reel un its do
not offer true ta pe monitor capabili ty .
However, the ou tputs of these machines
may s til l be con ne cted to the tape monit or
receptacles of th e 730. Tap e equipment
cap able of playback o nl y, can be
connected to either tape monitor.
The remaining SWITCHED AC
OUTLET on the rear of the 730 can be
used to provide power for your t pe dec k
or recorder This outlet 1s · ·1i ve" only wh en
the 730 is operating If you wi sh, th e
power switch o your tape equipment m y
be left in th e " on " position -power to it
would th en be contro ll ed by the POWER
switch of the 730. If you use th is rn 1tl e t. be
su re the re corder's drive s ys t em 1s
disengaged before y ou switch the 730 off.
OTHER EQUIPMENT
Pr ovision is ma de at ti e rear of the 730
to connect a ny equipment designed to be
installed b et ween the preamplifier and
power amplifier. To use this feature simply
disconnect the patch cords from th e
MAIN AMP IN and PREAMP OUT Jac ks
and follow instructio ns su p pl ied with t he
accessory equipmen t.
NOTE: Wit h no accessor equipment,
patch co rds M US T be instal fe d to use the
receiver
Tw o pair of a ux iliary in pu ts (AUX 1,
AUX 2) al so are available at th e rear of the
730 to connect any h1g r1 level· output
eq ui pment. A special tu ner for long wav e,
marin e, aircr aft, or c1t 1z n· s bands, e tc,
may be connecte d- or y ou m y choose
to connect a secon tape recorder or the
ou tp ut of t1 1e au dio section of telev is io n
re ceiver. An y number of choices is
available. Co su it your de aler f or
information as to wh at equi pm ent is
compa ti ble wi h the electric al
requiremen ts of the AUX in puts of the 73 0.
If you have not used th e SWITCHED AC
OUTLET for a tape recorder. you can use
it fo r acc esso ry equipment

now complete Pla ce the 730 in its fi nal
position and insert its AC power plug in to
a convenient wall ou tle t.
