Engine will not start. • Improper control settings.
• Engine may be low on fuel.

• Possible internal problems.
• Fuel tank vent may be closed.

Air breather may be clogged.

Belts Slip • Tension adjustment.
• Load may be excessive.
• Knives may be too dull.
• Foreign material may be lodged in the chipper or
shredder housing.
• Bearings may have seized.
Problem What to Check
Belts wear rapidly, jump, catch, or
twist.
• Pulleys may not be properly aligned.
• Check with straightedge across faces of pulleys.
Problem What to Check
Chipper is hard to feed. • Discharge plugged.
• Dull chipper knives.
• Improper knife clearance.
