Voice Configuration
There are 3 items under Black Side Interface: ANW2 Wideband, BGAN, and
Black LAN. These normally should not be changed by the operator but left for
the S-6 shop to configure in the CPA. These three items are the possible
transmission paths for data coming from the Red LAN port.
When ANW2 Wideband is enabled the radio utilizes the High-band antenna port
on the radio.
If BGAN (Broadband Global Area Network) is Enabled it requires an INMARSAT
(International Marine Satellite) terminal. Usage of INMARSATs is very costly and
the traffic class must be configured based on what was purchased. Background
is charged by the amount of data in bytes and Streaming is charged by time
using 4 different data rates. If BGAN was Disabled it’s best to leave Disabled.
Black LAN should also be left at Disabled unless configured by the S-6.
Only one item is in Voice Config; Voice Crypto Key. Select the correct key
position (TEK01 – TEK25).
