What to do if Harsen GU320a Controller “Genset” does not startup?

  If the “Genset” does not startup, try the following: 1. Check the fault indicator light using the “L.TEST” key, or consult the LCD display for any fault messages. 2. Check the DC voltage of connecting terminal “B10” of the controller. If there's no voltage, inspect the fuse. If the voltage is low, charge the battery. 3. Check the DC voltage of connecting terminal “B12” of the controller. If there's no voltage, the controller may be faulty and needs replacement. 4. To start the magnetic flux on the motor, connect the magnetic flux junction with the battery cathode by DC voltage meter. If the magnetic flux has voltage, it is faulty and needs replacement. If not, check the connecting line of control hold for flexibility or short circuits.

  If the Harsen Controller indicates a Diesel Starting Fault, try these steps: 1. Check the oil fuel level. 2. Check the DC voltage of connecting terminal “B11” of the controller. If there is no voltage, the controller may be faulty and needs to be replaced. 3. Check the fuel control magnetic flux connecting line and voltage on the magnetic flux. 4. Check the fuse on one side of the alternator. 5. Check the oil fuel pipe and oil filter for any blockages. 6. If white smoke is emitting from the exhaust system, fuel is entering the generator but the diesel is not starting; please refer to the Diesel Manual for further details. 7. If the outside ambient temperature is low, consider using a hot start. 8. Once the fault is eliminated, press the “RESET” key to reset.

After the diesel cools down, check the cooling water level, but avoid adding a large amount of water at once. 7. Please refer to the Diesel Manual for further details. 8. Once the fault is eliminated, press the “RESET” key to reset. 9. In the condition of unload, keep the generator running for 10 minutes. After the “Genset” cooling down, on load again.
