Dressproperly- Wearheavy,long pants, long sleeves,
gloves,andprotectivefootwearthatwillprotectyourfeet
andimproveyourfootingonslipperysurfaces.Do not wear
loosefittingclothing,shortpants,sandals,orgobarefoot.
Donotwearjewelryofanykind.Theycanbecaughtin
movingparts.
Don’toverreach-Keepproperfootingandbalanceatall
times.Overreachingcanresultinlossofbalance.
Donotleavethemowerunattendedwhilerunningorwith
thestartkeyinstalled.
Keephandsandfeetawayfromcuttingarea.Keepclear
ofthedischargeopeningatalltimes.
Operatethelawnmoweronlyindaylightorgoodartificial
light.
Use safety glasses - Alwaysweareyeprotectionwithside
shieldsmarkedtocomplywithANSIZ87.1. Use face mask
ifoperationisdusty.
Use the right appliance - Do not use the lawn mower for
anyjobexceptthatforwhichitisintended.
Do not force the lawn mower - It will do the job better and
saferattherateforwhichitwasdesigned.
Donotchargelawnmowerinrain,orinwetlocations.
Stay alert - Watch what you are doing and use common
sensewhenoperatingthelawnmower.Donotoperatethe
mower while tired, upset, or under the influence of drugs,
alcohol, or medication. A moment of inattention while
operating the lawn mower may result in serious personal
injury.
Maintain lawn mower with care - Keep machine in good
workingcondition.Keepbladessharpandguardsinplace
andinworkingorder.Replacedamagedorunevenlyworn
bladesbeforeusingmowerforbestperformance.
Check all nuts, bolts, and screws at frequent intervals
for proper tightness to be sure the equipment is in safe
working condition. Mower blades are sharp. Wrapthe
bladeorweargloves,anduseextracautionwhenservicing
them.
Do not dispose of the battery in a fire. The cell may
explode. Check with local codes for possible special
disposalinstructions.
Stop the motor, wait until the blade comes to a complete
stop,andremovethestartkeyandbatterypackbefore
performing any maintenance, cleaning the lawn mower,
removing the grass catcher, or removing the mulching
plug.
Never use a hose, water, or any liquids to clean or
rinse off the lawn mower. Corrosiveliquids,water,fer-
tilizers,andchemicalsusedtotreatlawnscanenterthe
lawn mower and/or battery compartment and damage
electroniccomponentsand/orthebatterypack,whichcan
result in a short circuit, increased risk of fire, and serious
personalinjury.Removeanybuildupofgrassandleaves
onoraroundthemowerhousingand/orunderneaththe
mowerdeck.Wipethemowercleanwithadryclothoc-
casionally.
Replace blade if it is bent or cracked. An unbalanced
blade causes vibration that could damage the motor
driveunitorcausepersonalinjury.Sharpenadullblade
equallyateachendtomaintainthebalance.Cleanthe
blade thoroughly and check its balance by supporting it
horizontallyonathinnailthroughitscenterhole.Thenail
shouldbeinahorizontalposition.Ifeitherendoftheblade
rotatesdownward,removesomemetalfromtheheavyof
lowerenduntilthebladeisbalanced.Itisbalancedwhen
neitherenddrops.
Alwaysusesafetyprotectivedevices.Donotoperatethe
mower without the entire grass catcher or mulching plug
andreardischargedoorinplaceandworkingproperly.
Donotopenormutilatethebattery.Releasedelectrolyte
iscorrosiveandmaycausedamagetotheeyesorskin.
Itmaybetoxicifswallowed.
Follow manufacturer’s instructions for proper operation
and installation of accessories. Only use accessories
approvedbythemanufacturer.
Exercise care in handling batteries in order not to short the
battery with conducting materials such as rings, bracelets,
and keys. The battery or conductor may overheat and
causeburns.
