• Use extra care when approaching blind corners,
shrubs, trees, or other objects that may block your
viewofachild.
Dressproperly–Wearheavy,longpants,longsleeves,
gloves, and protective footwear that will protect your
feetandimproveyourfootingonslipperysurfaces.Do
not wear loose fitting clothing, short pants, sandals, or
gobarefoot.Donotwearjewelryofanykind.Theycan
becaughtinmovingparts.
Don’toverreach–Keepproperfootingandbalanceat
alltimes.Overreachingcanresultinlossofbalance.
Donotleavethemowerunattendedwhilerunningorwith
thestartkeyinstalled.
Keephandsandfeetawayfromcuttingarea.Keepclear
ofthedischargeopeningatalltimes.
Operatethelawnmoweronlyindaylightorgoodartificial
light.
Usesafetyglasses–Alwaysweareyeprotectionwith
sideshieldsmarkedtocomplywithANSIZ87.1. Use face
maskifoperationisdusty.
Usetherightappliance–Donotusethelawnmowerfor
anyjobexceptthatforwhichitisintended.
Donotforcethelawnmower–Itwilldothejobbetter
andsaferattherateforwhichitwasdesigned.
Donotchargelawnmowerinrain,orinwetlocations.
Stayalert–Watchwhatyouaredoingandusecommon
sensewhenoperatingthelawnmower.Donotoperate
the mower while tired, upset, or under the influence of
drugs,alcohol,ormedication.Amomentofinattention
while operating the lawn mower may result in serious
personalinjury.
Maintainlawnmowerwithcare–Keepmachineingood
working condition. Keep blades sharp and guards in
placeandinworkingorder.Replacedamagedoruneven-
lywornbladesbeforeusingmowerforbestperformance.
Checkallnuts,bolts,andscrewsatfrequentintervals
for proper tightness to be sure the equipment is in safe
workingcondition.Mowerbladesaresharp.Wrapthe
bladeorweargloves,anduseextracautionwhenser-
vicingthem.
Do not dispose of the battery in a fire. The cell may
explode. Check with local codes for possible special
disposalinstructions.
Stop the motor, wait until the blade comes to a complete
stop,andremovethestartkeyandbatterypackbefore
performing any maintenance, cleaning the lawn mower,
removingthegrasscatcher,orremovingthemulching
plug.
Never use a hose, water, or any liquids to clean or
rinse off the lawn mower. Corrosive liquids, water,
fertilizers,andchemicalsusedtotreatlawnscanenter
the lawn mower and/or battery compartment and
damageelectroniccomponentsand/orthebatterypack,
which can result in a short circuit, increased risk of fire,
and serious personal injury. Remove any buildup of
grassandleavesonoraroundthemowerhousingand/
orunderneaththemowerdeck.Wipethemowerclean
withadryclothoccasionally.
Replaceblade ifitisbentor cracked.Anunbalanced
blade causes vibration that could damage the motor
driveunitorcausepersonalinjury.Sharpenadullblade
equallyateachendtomaintainthebalance.Cleanthe
blade thoroughly and check its balance by supporting
ithorizontallyonathinnailthroughitscenterhole.The
nailshouldbeinahorizontalposition.Ifeitherendof
thebladerotatesdownward,removesomemetalfrom
theheavyoflowerenduntilthebladeisbalanced.Itis
balancedwhenneitherenddrops.
Alwaysusesafetyprotectivedevices.Donotoperatethe
mower without the entire grass catcher or mulching plug
andreardischargedoorinplaceandworkingproperly.
Donotopenormutilatethebattery.Releasedelectrolyte
iscorrosiveandmaycausedamagetotheeyesorskin.
Itmaybetoxicifswallowed.
Follow manufacturer’s instructions for proper operation
and installation of accessories. Only use accessories
approvedbythemanufacturer.
Exercise care in handling batteries in order not to short
the battery with conducting materials such as rings,
bracelets,andkeys.Thebatteryorconductormayover-
heatandcauseburns.
