Provide adequate support such as table extensions,
saw horses, etc. for a workpiece that is wider or longer
than the table top. Workpieceslongerorwiderthanthe
mitersawtablecantipifnotsecurelysupported.Ifthe
cut-offpieceorworkpiecetips,itcanliftthelowerguard
orbethrownbythespinningblade.
Do not use another person as a substitute for a table
extension or as additional support. Unstablesupport
fortheworkpiececancause the blade tobindorthe
workpiecetoshiftduring the cutting operationpulling
youandthehelperintothespinningblade.
The cut-off piece must not be jammed or pressed by
any means against the spinning saw blade.Ifconfined,
i.e.usinglengthstops,thecut-offpiececouldgetwedged
againstthebladeandthrownviolently.
Always use a clamp or a fixture designed to properly
support round material such as rods or tubing. Rods
haveatendencytorollwhilebeingcut,causingtheblade
tobiteandpulltheworkwithyourhandintotheblade.
Let the blade reach full speed before contacting the
workpiece. Thiswillreducetheriskof the workpiece
beingthrown.
If the workpiece or blade becomes jammed, turn the
miter saw off. Wait for all moving parts to stop and
disconnect the plug from the power source and/or re-
move the battery pack. Then work to free the jammed
material. Continuedsawingwithajammedworkpiece
couldcauselossofcontrolordamagetothemitersaw.
After finishing the cut, release the switch, hold the
saw head down and wait for the blade to stop before
removing the cut-off piece. Reachingwithyourhand
nearthecoastingbladeisdangerous.
Hold the handle firmly when making an incomplete cut
or when releasing the switch before the saw head is
completely in the down position. Thebrakingactionof
thesawmaytobesuddenlypulleddownward,causing
ariskofinjury.
Save these instructions.Refertothemfrequentlyand
usetoinstructotherusers.Ifyouloansomeonethistool,
loanthemtheseinstructionsalso.
Use the proper extension cord. Makesureyourexten-
sioncordisingoodcondition.Useonlyacordheavy
enoughtocarrythecurrentyourproductwilldraw.An
undersizedcordwillcauseadropinlinevoltageresult-
inginlossofpowerandoverheating.Awiregaugesize
(A.W.G.)ofatleast14 is recommended for an extension
cord25feetorlessinlength.Ifindoubt,usethenext
heaviergauge.Thesmallerthegaugenumber,theheavier
thecord.
Inspect tool cords periodically.Ifdamaged,havere-
pairedbyaqualifiedservicetechnicianatanauthorized
servicefacility.Repairorreplaceadamagedorworncord
immediately.Stayconstantlyawareofcordlocationand
keepitwellawayfromtherotatingblade.
Inspect extension cords periodically andreplace if
damaged.
Polarized plugs. Toreduce theriskofelectric shock,
thistoolhasapolarizedplug(onebladeiswiderthan
theother).Thisplugwillfitinapolarizedoutletonlyone
way.Iftheplugdoesnotfitfullyintheoutlet,reversethe
plug.Ifitstilldoesnotfit,contactaqualifiedelectrician
toinstalltheproperoutlet.Donotchangethepluginany
way.
Know your power tool. Readthe operator’s manual
carefully.Learntheapplicationsandlimitationsaswell
asthespecificpotentialhazardsrelatedtothistool.
Always wear eye protection with side shields which
is marked to comply with ansi Z87.1 when using this
product. Failuretodosocouldresultinobjectsbeing
thrownintoyoureyes,resultinginpossibleseriousinjury.
Never stand on tool. Seriousinjurycouldoccurifthetool
istippedorifthecuttingtoolisunintentionallycontacted.
Keep guards in place andingoodworkingorder.
Use the right direction of feed. Feedworkintoablade,
cutter,orsandingspindleagainstthedirectionofrotation
oftheblade,cutter,orsandingspindleonly.
Never leave tool running unattended. Turn the power
off. Don’tleavetooluntilitcomestoacompletestop.
Use only correct blades. Do notusebladeswithincor-
rectsizeholes.Neverusebladewashersorbladebolts
thataredefectiveorincorrect.Themaximumbladeca-
pacityofyoursawis7-1/4in.
Before making a cut, be sure all adjustments are
secure.
Never touch blade orothermovingpartsduringuse.
Double check all setups.Makesurebladeistightand
notmakingcontactwithsaworworkpiecebeforecon-
nectingtopowersupply.
Firmly clamp or boltyourtooltoaworkbenchortable
atapproximatelyhipheight.
