Overview

The HR4136-B1 is a CID/Data Read/Write Controller designed for TIRIS Proximity Tags, featuring SECS I/II protocol support. This device serves as a crucial component in systems requiring reliable identification and data management using RFID technology.

Function Description:

The HR4136-B1 functions as a controller for reading and writing data to TIRIS Proximity Tags. It supports both CID (Card Identification) and general data operations, making it versatile for various applications such as access control, material tracking, and automated manufacturing processes. The integration of SECS I/II protocol allows for seamless communication with host systems in semiconductor manufacturing environments, ensuring compatibility with industry-standard equipment and software. The controller can be connected to either a stick antenna or a rectangular antenna, depending on the specific installation requirements and desired transmission area characteristics. It provides visual feedback through Status (ST), Transmit (TX), and Receive (RX) LEDs, indicating the operational status and data flow. Configuration of the device, including baud rate, address, beeper status, and self-test mode, is managed via DIP switches.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Supply Voltage Range: DC 10 ~ 24V (+/-10%), supplied from the power terminals.
  • Current Consumption @12VDC: Average 60mA; Peak 160mA. Maximum rush current is approximately 2A.
  • Transmitting Radio Frequency: Typical 134.2KHz, utilizing FSK (Frequency Shift Keying) modulation.
  • Transponder Type: Compatible with TIRIS Tags, supporting both single and multi-page transponders. Specifically tested with TEXAS INSTRUMENTS 32mm Glass Transponder part number RI-TRP-DR2B.
  • Operating Ambient Temperature: -10 ~ +70°C, with no freezing.
  • Operating Ambient Humidity: 10 ~ 85%RH, with no dew condensation.
  • Storage Ambient Temperature: -20 ~ +85°C, with no freezing.
  • Storage Ambient Humidity: 5 ~ 95%RH, with no dew condensation.
  • Communication Interface: RS-232C or RS-485. The default baud rate is 9600 bps (N.8.1 fixed).
  • Weight: 450g MAX.
  • Dimensions: 147 x 110 x 32 mm, excluding protrusions on connectors.
  • Mounting System: Secured with two M3 screws. Washers are enclosed for proper installation.
  • Communication Standard: RS-232C or RS-485 only for use with HR4135 Gate Controller.
  • Synchronization: Asynchronous mode, start-stop synchronization.
  • Communications Control Standard: SEMI/SECS protocol for HR4136-B1 CID Read/Write controller.
  • Baud Rate Options: Configurable to 4800, 9600 (Default), 19200, 28800 bps.
  • Character Format (fixed): 1 Start bit, 8 Data bits, None Parity, 1 Stop bit (Total 10 bits).

  • Antenna Cable Length: 2M with RP-TNC connector.

Usage Features:

The HR4136-B1 is designed for ease of integration and operation within a larger system.

  • Connectivity: It features a DC 10-24V input for power, an antenna terminal block (ANT), an RS232 communications port, and an RS485 communications port. The RS485 port allows for multi-drop connections, enabling a single HR4135 Gate Controller to manage multiple HR4136-B1 units.
  • System Architecture: In a typical setup, an HR4135 Gate Controller can connect to two RS485 communication ports. Each RS485 port can support a maximum of 32 HR4136-B1 CIDRW controllers, with a recommended maximum of 25 sets per port. The total RS485 connection distance from the HR4135 to the last HR4136-B1 can be up to 1000m. For larger systems, using an HRP485 Repeater allows connection of up to 99 HR4136-B1 controllers, maintaining the 1000m maximum connection distance from the repeater to the last controller.
  • DIP Switch Configuration:
    • Baud Rate (SW 1-2): Allows selection of 4800, 9600, 19200, or 28800 bps.
    • Beeper Status (SW 3): Enables the beeper to sound upon successful Stream Function execution (ON) or disables it (OFF).
    • Test Mode (SW 4): When ON, the controller automatically reads RFID tags repeatedly, useful for testing. When OFF, it operates normally.
  • Antenna Options: The controller supports both stick and rectangular antennas. The transmission area varies depending on the antenna type, with diagrams provided to illustrate normal, recommended, and unrecommended reading zones for optimal tag detection.
  • Visual Indicators: ST, TX, and RX LEDs provide immediate visual feedback on the device's status, data transmission, and data reception, aiding in troubleshooting and monitoring.

Maintenance Features:

  • Durability: The device is built to withstand industrial environments, with specified operating and storage temperature/humidity ranges.
  • Installation: Mounting is straightforward using two M3 screws. It is important to tighten these screws with a torque not exceeding 1.2 Nm and to avoid applying organic solvents used with screw locking agents at the screw insertion points to prevent damage.
  • FCC Compliance: The device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules, indicating it has been tested to ensure it does not cause harmful interference and can accept interference received. Users are advised to consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for assistance if interference issues arise. Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the manufacturer could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
  • Warranty: HEART TECH provides a one-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Proper handling, storage, installation, and maintenance are crucial for warranty validity.
  • Documentation: The manual emphasizes reading and understanding the document before use and storing it for future reference, facilitating self-maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Error Handling: The device includes FCS (Frame Check Sequence) for error control in communication, enhancing data integrity.
