Questions and Answers

Why do my Heath Zenith Control Unit lights stay on continuously?
    • S
      Susan BaileyJul 29, 2025
The lights might stay on because a lamp is too close to the sensor or pointed at nearby objects, causing heat to trigger it. Try repositioning the lamp. Alternatively, the light control could be pointed toward a heat source like an air vent. Reposition the sensor and reduce the range. Finally, ensure the light control is not in Manual Mode; switch to Auto.

How to fix Heath Zenith Control Unit lights that won't come on?
    • L
      Lynn DiazAug 2, 2025
If your lights won't come on, first, make sure the light switch is turned on. If that's not the issue, check if the light is loose or burned out and replace it if necessary. Also, check the fuse and reset the circuit breaker. Daylight turn-off might be in effect, so recheck after dark. If it's a new installation, check the circuit wiring. Finally, adjust the sensor's aim to cover the desired area.

What to do if my Heath Zenith Control Unit lights come on for no apparent reason?
    • N
      Nicole DennisAug 6, 2025
If your lights are activating for no apparent reason, the light control may be sensing small animals or automobile traffic; try re-aiming the sensor. The range might also be set too high, so reduce it. Also, check if the DualBrite® Timer is on and turn it off if it is.

Why do my Heath Zenith Control Unit lights come on in daylight?
    • J
      John RiveraAug 10, 2025
If your lights are coming on during the day, the light control may be installed in a relatively dark location; relocate it. Also, check if the light control is in Test mode, and if so, set the control switch to an ON-TIME position.

Why do my Heath Zenith Control Unit lights flash on and off?
    • R
      Robert AllenAug 14, 2025
The lights might be flashing on and off because heat or light from the lamps may be turning the light control on and off; reposition the lamps away from the sensor. Heat being reflected from other objects may also be affecting the sensor; reposition the sensor. If the light control is in Test mode, turn Boost off. If the light control is in Flash mode, select Normal or Soft mode to turn flash mode off.

What to do if Heath Zenith Control Unit lights turn off too late in Dusk-to-Dawn setting?
    • B
      Bobby LopezAug 19, 2025
If the lights turn off too late in the Dusk-to-Dawn setting, it could be because the sensor is in a relatively dark location. Relocate the sensor, or use the 3 hr or 6 hr setting.
  • M
    Matthew Estrada DDSAug 23, 2025
What to do if my Heath Zenith Control Unit lights flash once, then stay off in Manual Mode?
    • J
      Jennifer JohnsAug 23, 2025
If the lights flash once and then stay off in Manual Mode, the sensor may be detecting its own lights. Reposition the lamps to keep the area below the sensor relatively dark.
