Checks for loose bolts, nuts and fittings.
Check the air filter for dirt. Clean or replace it if necessary.
The choke must move up and down easily.
The spark plug boot is secure –a loose boot may cause arcing that could ignite combustable
fumes and cause a fire.
Keep the handles dry and clean, free from oil and dirt, for safe control.
Never attempt to modify or disassemble the controls or safety devices.
STARTING A COLD ENGINE
Fill the fuel tank with the amount of Fuel / oil mixture mixture in accordance with
the instruction recomended in this manual.
1. For cold start, set the choke lever (fig. 14) to „START“ . For warm start let choke lever
in position „RUN“ .
2. Press and release (ca 6x) the primer bulb (fig. 15A). Fuel should be visible in the bulb and
there are no air bubbles visible in the fuel discharge line.
3. ON / OFF switch (fig. 16A) set to position “1” (ON) .
4. With the unit firmly on the ground, pull the starter rope (fig. 17A) slowly until you feel

The unit should start within several pulls. If it fails to start, re-prime the bulb and ensure
the choke lever is in the correct position.
C Do not allow the starter grip to snap back against the engine. Return it gently to
prevent damage to the starter. Do not pull the starter cord too far - risk of cord
breakage!
5. If the engine still will not start, follow the “Starting a Flooded Engine” instructions below.
6. Run the engine for 2-3 minutes at idle speed after starting until the operating temperature
is reached.
7. As the engine warms, open the choke gradually by slowly pushing the choke control in to
position RUN .
STARTING A WARM ENGINE
1. ON / OFF switch set to position “1” (ON) .
2. Leave the choke in position “RUN” when starting a warm engine. Overchoking can make
the engine hard to start due to excess fuel.
3. Squeeze and hold the throttle lever.
4. With the unit firmly on the ground, pull the starter rope slowly until you feel the engine
engage and then start the machine by pulling the starter rope upwards briskly. The unit
should start within several pulls. If it fails to start, re-prime the bulb and ensure the choke
lever is in the correct position.
STARTING A FLOODED ENGINE
1. Disconnect the spark plug boot, and use the spark plug wrench to remove the spark plug in
a counter-clockwise direction.
CAUTION! A
If the engine has been running, the spark plug will be very hot. Risk of burns.
