î To drain the oil remove the screws (1) from
the front left and the belly pan (2).
î Place a drain pan under the crankcase.
î Remove the oil level dipstick (3) and drain
cap (4).

î Reinstall the oil level dipstick.
î Make sure that oil level is at the upper level
mark on the oil level dipstick with the
motorcycle in an upright position, and that
there are no oil leaks.
î Fill the crankcase through the filler hole with
approximately 0.90 litre of recommended
engine oil.
î Start the engine and allow it to idle for few
minutes.
î Stop the engine.
î After the oil has completely drained,
reinstall the drain cap with a new O-ring.
î Running the engine with insufficient oil can
cause serious engine damage.
î Running the engine with excessive oil can
cause spark plug fouling & loss in
performance.
î Engine oil is a major factor affecting the
performance and service life of the engine.
Non-detergent, vegetable or castor based
racing oils are not recommended.
CAUTION
Recommended spark plug :
CENTRIFUGAL OIL FILTER
Centrifugal oil filter needs to be cleaned
periodically as per the maintenance schedule
(page 27).
It is advised that you visit your Authorised
Hero MotoCorp workshop for this type of
service.
