Overview

This document serves as a Quick Setup Guide for Hisense U7G series televisions, including models 55U7G, 65U7G, 75U7G, and 85U7G. It provides essential information for setting up and safely operating the TV, along with important disclaimers and safety precautions.

Function Description

The Hisense U7G series televisions are designed to provide a high-quality viewing experience with various connectivity options and smart features. The TV allows users to access a wide range of content through antenna, cable, and external AV equipment, as well as via internet connectivity for streaming and smart TV functionalities. The included remote control facilitates easy navigation and control of the TV's features, including channel selection, volume adjustment, input source switching, and access to smart applications. Some models also support hands-free wake-up functionality and voice assistants for enhanced user interaction.

Usage Features

Initial Setup:

Upon first power-on, the TV guides the user through an installation process. This includes selecting the desired language, connecting to the internet (either via Ethernet or a wireless network), choosing the country of operation, and reviewing the End User License Agreement and Privacy Policy. Users can also opt for "Enhanced Viewing," which automatically adjusts picture and sound modes based on recognized content, and link their TV to a VIDAA account. The setup process concludes with naming the TV and selecting a voice assistant if available.

Stand Installation:

The TV comes with base stands that need to be securely attached. For 55-inch models, two stands are inserted into bottom slots and secured with four M5×12 screws. For 65-inch and 75-inch models, users can choose between different installation patterns for the base stands, depending on the size of the supporting surface, using M5×12 or M5×16 screws respectively. For 85-inch models, the installation involves carefully placing the TV on cushions and then attaching the stands with M5×16 screws. It is crucial to ensure the TV is stable after installation.

Wall Mount Installation:

For wall mounting, the TV stand must be removed first. The wall mount bracket (optional and not supplied with all models) should support the TV's weight. Spacers are used between the TV and the bracket. For 55"/65"/75" models, the tilt angle between the TV screen and the vertical surface should not exceed 15 degrees, using M6 screws. For 85" models, the tilt angle should not exceed 5 degrees, using M8 screws.

Connectivity:

  • Antenna: Connects to an outdoor VHF/UHF antenna or cable system using an antenna cable (75Ω) to the ANT jack.
  • HDMI/AV: Connects to external AV equipment using HDMI or AV cables. HDMI connections do not require a separate sound connection. The TV supports various HDMI resolutions, including 4K@60Hz. Users can select the input source via the [INPUT] button on the remote.
  • Headphone: Connects headphones for audio output. It is advised to use headphones without a microphone function.
  • Digital Audio Out: Connects to an external digital audio system. Users should decrease the volume of both the TV and the external system before connecting to avoid sudden loud audio.
  • eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel): Allows the TV to output digital sound directly through an HDMI cable to an eARC-compatible audio receiver. This port cannot be used for signal input simultaneously when functioning as eARC.
  • USB: Connects USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 devices (hard drives, USB sticks, digital cameras) for browsing photos, listening to music, and watching movies. USB 3.0 devices are supported on some models, with a maximum current of 1A. External power adapters are recommended for hard disks or USB hubs.
  • LAN (Wired Setup): Connects the TV to a network via an Ethernet/Cat 5 cable to an external modem or router. DHCP-enabled modems/routers are recommended for automatic IP address configuration.
  • Wireless Setup: The TV has a built-in Wireless LAN Adapter supporting IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac protocols. A wireless router with DHCP is recommended. Security systems like WPA, WEP, and WPA2 are supported. For smooth network performance, the TV should be within 10 meters of the router.

Remote Control:

The remote control provides comprehensive functionality. It includes buttons for power on/standby, input source selection, channel and number input, Electronic Program Guide (EPG), special functions, quick setup, navigation (Up/Down/Left/Right), OK/on-screen keyboard, exit, home screen, volume, channel up/down, microphone activation, subtitles, mute, and quick access to apps. The remote control has an operating range of up to 8 meters in front of the TV, with horizontal and vertical control angles of ±30° and ±15° respectively.

Maintenance Features

Safety Precautions:

The manual emphasizes several critical safety precautions:

  • Electrical Safety: Always disconnect the AC power cord before any installation or maintenance. Do not open the back cover; only qualified technicians should service the TV. The TV uses AC voltage. 55"/65" models are Class II (no protective earthing required), while 75"/85" models are Class I (protective earthing required).
  • Placement: Never place the TV in an unstable location. Use manufacturer-recommended stands or furniture that can safely support the TV. Ensure the TV does not overhang the supporting furniture. Avoid placing the TV on tall furniture without anchoring both the furniture and the TV. Do not place the TV on cloth or other materials that may be between the TV and its support. Educate children about climbing furniture.
  • Cleaning: Unplug the TV before cleaning. Use a lightly dampened cloth; avoid liquid, abrasive, or aerosol cleaners, which can damage the cabinet and screen.
  • Ventilation: Ensure proper ventilation by not covering cabinet slots and openings. Maintain a minimum 10cm gap around the unit, with the rear of the TV at least 6cm from the wall.
  • Power Cord Protection: Route power cords to prevent walking on or pinching. The main plug is the disconnect device and should be readily operable.
  • Lightning: Unplug the TV and disconnect the antenna/cable system during lightning storms or when unused for long periods to prevent damage.
  • Power Lines: Do not install outdoor antenna systems near overhead power lines or circuits.
  • Overloading: Avoid overloading wall outlets and extension cords to prevent fire or electric shock.
  • Object and Liquid Entry: Never push objects into TV openings or spill liquids onto/into the TV.
  • Outdoor Antenna Grounding: If an outdoor antenna/cable system is connected, ensure it is grounded to protect against voltage surges and static charges.
  • Servicing: Do not attempt to service the TV yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel. Unplug the TV and seek service if the power cord/plug is damaged, liquid is spilled, objects fall into the TV, or the TV is exposed to rain/water, or if it exhibits a distinct change in performance.
  • Heat and Fire: Keep the product away from heat sources and naked flame sources like lighted candles.
  • Off-gassing: The plastic smell from the TV is normal and will dissipate over time.

Battery Handling:

  • Do not mix new and old batteries or different types.
  • Do not expose batteries to heat, direct sunlight, or fire.
  • Ensure correct polarity (+/-) when inserting batteries.
  • Remove depleted batteries immediately to prevent acid leakage.
  • Remove batteries if the remote control will not be used for a long time.
  • If battery chemicals touch skin, wash immediately.
  • Dispose of batteries in designated disposal areas.

Remote Control Pairing (for Bluetooth remotes):

Pair the remote control to the TV after powering it on, keeping it within 3 meters. Press any button (except power and mic) to pair. If issues occur, press and hold the specific pairing button (indicated by an icon in the manual). If interference is suspected, remove the cause and re-pair. If the remote malfunctions with normal battery power, remove batteries, press any key for 1-2 seconds, then reinsert. The remote cannot be paired while the TV is in standby mode.

Disposal:

Packaging and electrical goods should be recycled appropriately, not treated as household waste. Dispose of equipment at applicable collection points for electrical and electronic waste. This helps prevent environmental and health hazards and conserves natural resources. Do not dispose of old equipment with household waste. For detailed recycling information, contact your local city office, waste disposal service, or the shop where the product was purchased. The product should not be damaged, dismantled, or thrown in municipal waste; it should be packed and handed over to an authorized re-cycler.
