  If the string on your Homelite Trimmer with the EZ Line™ tap advance system isn't advancing, several factors could be at play. The string might be welded to itself; try lubricating it with silicone spray. There might not be enough string on the spool, in which case you should install more string. The string could be worn too short; try pulling the strings while pressing down on and releasing the spool retainer alternately. The string could also be tangled on the spool, so remove it and rewind it. Lastly, the engine speed might be too slow, so advance the string at full throttle.

  If your Homelite Trimmer engine won't start, the issue might be a lack of spark. To check, remove the spark plug, reattach the spark plug cap, and lay the spark plug on the metal cylinder. Pull the starter rope and look for a spark at the spark plug tip. If there's no spark, try again with a new spark plug. Another reason could be that there's no fuel. Push the primer bulb until it fills with fuel. If it doesn't fill, the primary fuel delivery system may be blocked, you should contact a servicing dealer. Alternatively, the engine might be flooded. Remove the spark plug and turn the trimmer so the spark plug hole faces the ground. Move the choke lever 15 times to clear excess fuel. Clean and reinstall the spark plug. Pull the starter three times with the choke lever at 'RUN'. If it still do...
