How to fix Homelite EASY REACH UT20002 Trimmer when engine will not start?
- VVictor HoffmanJul 29, 2025
If your Homelite Trimmer engine won't start, begin by checking for spark. Remove the spark plug, reattach the cap, and lay the plug against the metal cylinder. Pull the starter rope to look for a spark at the plug tip. No spark? Try again with a new spark plug. Also, ensure the engine is getting fuel by pushing the primer bulb until it fills. If it doesn't fill, the fuel system might be blocked, and you should contact a servicing dealer. Lastly, if the engine is flooded, remove the spark plug and turn the trimmer so the spark plug hole faces the ground to clear excess fuel. Clean and reinstall the plug. Pull the starter three times with the choke at 'RUN'. If it doesn't start, move the choke to 'CHOKE' and try starting again. If problems persist, use a new spark plug.
