How to check spark on Homelite Trimmer?
    • C
      cheryl81Aug 2, 2025
To check for spark on your Homelite Trimmer: Disconnect the spark plug wire, reattach it, and lay the spark plug on the metal cylinder. If your Homelite Trimmer string won't advance, try these solutions: 1. Lubricate the string with silicone spray if it's welded to itself. 2. Install more string if there's not enough on the spool. 3. Pull the strings while alternately pressing down on and releasing the spool retainer if the string is worn too short. 4. Advance string at full throttle if engine speed is too slow.

What to do if Homelite Trimmer engine is flooded?
    • B
      bellbriannaAug 10, 2025
If your Homelite Trimmer engine won't start, it might be flooded. Remove the spark plug and turn the trimmer so the spark plug hole faces the ground. Move the choke lever to “RUN” and pull the starter cord 10 to 15 times to clear excess fuel. Clean and reinstall the spark plug. Then, pull the starter three times with the choke lever at “RUN”. If it still doesn't start, move the choke lever to “CHOKE” and try the normal starting procedure again. If the engine still fails to start, repeat the procedure with a new spark plug. The cause of the problem is 'flooded engine'.
