  There are several reasons why your Homewerks Fan might be louder than expected. First, ensure the CFM rating of the fan matches the room's square footage. Check the damper to confirm it's opening and closing correctly; if damaged, contact Customer Service. Make sure there are no sharp bends in the duct within 18 inches of the fan discharge. Use the recommended duct size to reduce noise if the fan discharge is reduced to fit a smaller duct. Finally, ensure the fan is securely attached to the ceiling joists.
