Contents
Each Controller CPU and Scanner module is supplied in a shipping container and static protective
shipping bag. For protection, leave the modules in their shipping containers until ready for installation.
Each container has a label identifying the contents.

Installation Guidelines
The Controller CPU and Scanner modules may only be inserted into a dedicated slot location in the
rack. The modules are labeled on the LEFT side of the module: for example, C30, C50, C70, Scanner
1 Port (S50), Scanner 2 Port (S75) and Safety versions C30S, C50S, C70S, C75S, Scanner 1 Port
(S50S), Scanner2 Port (S75S).
Most of the components in an I/O expansion rack are identical to those used in the Controller Rack.
The Controller CPU is installed in the controller rack (Figure 1, item 3) whereas the Scanner 1 or
Scanner 2 is installed in the I/O expansion rack (Figure 2).
