Overview

The Hover-1 Nova Electric Scooter (Model: H1-NVA) is a personal transporter designed for individual use. It utilizes digital electronic gyroscopes and acceleration sensors to control balance and motion based on the user's center of gravity. A built-in inertia dynamic stabilization system assists with balance when moving forward and backward, but not during turns.

Important Safety Information:

Always wear a properly fitted helmet that complies with CPSC or CE safety standards when riding. Helmets save lives. Ensure the helmet covers your forehead for correct fitting; an exposed forehead is vulnerable to serious injury. Read the user manual thoroughly before operation. Failure to follow instructions and safety precautions can lead to damage, serious bodily injury, or even death. The manufacturer is not liable for damage or injury caused by failure to understand and follow warnings.

Usage Features:

The Nova is designed for safe operation and maintenance. It comes with the scooter, a wall charger, and an operation manual.

  • Parts: Fender, Left Foot Mat, Battery Indicator, Right Foot Mat, Tire, Power Button, Charge Port, Protective Chassis Casing.
  • Turning On/Off: To power on, place the Nova flat on the floor and press the power button on the rear. The battery indicator light should illuminate. To power off, press the power button once.
  • Mat Sensors: Four sensors are located under the foot mats. Riders must step on these mats. Applying weight to only one foot mat may cause the Nova to vibrate or spin.
  • Battery Indicator: Located in the middle of the Nova.
    • Green LED: Fully charged.
    • Red flashing LED with beeping: Low battery.
    • Yellow light: Charging.
    • Recharge when the LED light turns red.
  • Running Indicator: Lights up when foot mats are triggered, indicating the system is in a running state. If the system has an error, it will turn red.
  • Riding: Ensure the Nova is fully charged before initial use. Stand directly behind the Nova, place one foot on a foot mat, keeping weight on the ground foot. Shift weight to the foot on the Nova, then quickly and evenly step on with the second foot. Maintain balance by distributing weight correctly and keeping your center of gravity level. To move, accelerate, decelerate, or stop, tilt your center of gravity in the desired direction. To turn, focus on the direction and stay relaxed. Avoid sharp turns or high speeds on slopes.
  • Dismounting: From a stopped position, lift one leg and set your foot back down on the ground (stepping back), then step off completely. Ensure feet are completely off the foot mat to avoid tailspin.
  • Operating Range Factors: Riding distance is affected by terrain (smooth, flat surfaces yield highest distance), user weight (lighter users have further range), ambient temperature (recommended temperatures increase range), and speed/riding style (moderate, consistent speed maximizes distance; frequent starts/stops, idling, and acceleration/deceleration decrease it).
  • Balance & Calibration: If the Nova is unbalanced, vibrating, or not turning properly, it can be calibrated. Place it on a flat, horizontal surface, ensuring foot mats are even. With the charger unplugged and the board off, press and hold the ON/OFF button for 8-10 seconds until the battery indicator lights up and flashes 5 times. Release the button, turn the board off, then turn it back on. Calibration is complete.

Safety Precautions:

  • Check local laws for riding on public roads. Hover-1 is not liable for violations.
  • Always wear a helmet.
  • Obey all traffic laws (lights, one-way streets, stop signs, crosswalks).
  • Ride with traffic, defensively.
  • Give pedestrians the right-of-way and alert them when passing.
  • Slow down at intersections.
  • The Nova is not equipped with reflectors; avoid riding in low visibility. Wear bright, reflective clothing if riding in poor lighting.
  • Do not ride above your skill level. Practice in open areas.
  • Ensure the Running Indicator light is green before stepping on.
  • Do not open or modify the Nova; this voids the warranty and can cause failure, injury, or death.
  • Do not use in a manner that endangers people or property.
  • Keep a safe distance from others.
  • Keep feet on pedals at all times.
  • Do not operate under the influence of drugs/alcohol or when restless/sleepy.
  • Do not ride off curbs, ramps, or in skate parks/empty pools. The Nova is not a skateboard.
  • Avoid continuous spinning to prevent dizziness and injury risk.
  • Do not abuse the Nova; physical abuse voids the warranty.
  • Avoid puddles, mud, sand, stones, gravel, debris, or rough terrain.
  • Use on flat, even paved surfaces. Lift over uneven pavement.
  • Do not ride in inclement weather (snow, rain, hail, sleet, icy roads) or extreme heat/cold.
  • Bend knees on bumpy surfaces to absorb shock and maintain balance.
  • If unsure about terrain, step off and carry the Nova.
  • Do not ride over bumps or objects greater than ½ inch.
  • Pay attention to surroundings (road conditions, people, property, objects).
  • Do not operate in crowded areas or while talking, texting, or looking at your phone.
  • Do not ride where prohibited or near motor vehicles/public roads.
  • Do not travel up or down steep hills.
  • Intended for single individual use; do not operate with two or more people.
  • Do not carry anything while riding.
  • Individuals with lack of balance or pregnant women should not operate.
  • Recommended for riders ages 8 and older.
  • Consider longer stopping distances at higher speeds.
  • Do not step forward off or jump on/off the Nova.
  • Do not attempt stunts or tricks.
  • Do not ride in dark or poorly lit areas.
  • Avoid riding off-road, near potholes, cracks, or uneven surfaces.
  • Be aware you are 4.5 inches (11.43 cm) taller when operating; clear doorways safely.
  • Do not step on the fenders.
  • Avoid unsafe places with flammable gas, steam, liquid, dust, or fiber.
  • Do not operate near swimming pools or other bodies of water.
  • If using a hoverboard with a kart (sold separately), avoid riding uphill on steep inclines (above 5-10°). A safety mechanism will shut down the hoverboard. Dismount, place on a flat surface, wait 2 minutes, then power on again.
  • Adult supervision is required to reduce injury risk. Never use in roadways, near motor vehicles, on/near steep inclines or steps, swimming pools or other bodies of water. Always wear shoes and allow only one rider.
