The Hover-1 Raptor is a hoverboard attachment designed to transform a standard hoverboard into a seated, kart-like vehicle, offering a new way to experience hoverboard riding. This attachment is designed for use with most 6.5-inch hoverboards, allowing riders to sit comfortably while operating their hoverboard. The Raptor emphasizes safety, requiring users to wear a properly fitted helmet that complies with CPSC or CE safety standards. The manual stresses the importance of reading it thoroughly before riding, even for experienced riders, to ensure safety and prevent serious injury or death.
The assembly process for the Raptor is detailed and involves several steps. It begins with attaching the suspension shocks to the seat frame using M8 x 38 screws and 8 mm nuts, ensuring they are tightly secured with a hex key and wrench. Next, the left and right handlebar mounts are inserted into the seat frame, aligning their holes with those in the seat frame and the flag holder. More M8 x 38 screws and 8 mm nuts are used here, again requiring tight securing. The front frame is then inserted into the seat frame, and its length can be adjusted. Lockers with black bolts and white washers are used to secure the front frame to the seat frame, with the locker clamps closed tightly.
A unique feature of the Raptor is its fog blaster. The assembly includes attaching the fog blaster to its mount using four mounting screws, ensuring the two larger holes of the mount face forward. Once these components are in place, the bucket seat is attached to the seat frame and fog blaster mount using M6 x 16 screws and 6 mm nuts, which are also tightened with a hex key and wrench. Finally, the flag is assembled by inserting flag rods into the flag fabric and connecting them with coupling tubes, then inserting the complete flag set into the flag tube.
After assembly, the Raptor needs to be attached to a hoverboard. This involves placing the handlebar mounts onto the hoverboard's foot pads, ensuring they are centered. The Raptor is then secured to the hoverboard using two hook and loop straps. These straps are threaded through the front hole of each handlebar mount, wrapped under the hoverboard, and pulled through to the rear hole of the mounts. The rubber protectors on the straps should be centered underneath the hoverboard, with side B facing the ground, and the straps must be tightly secured. A warning is given not to over-tighten the straps but to ensure a secure attachment.
The fog blaster itself has several features and requires specific maintenance. It includes a charging port, water tank, power button, LED lights and sound effects button, and fog vent with LED lights. Before first use, the fog blaster must be charged by connecting it to a USB outlet with the included charging cable. A red light indicates charging, and the light turning off signifies a full charge, which can take up to four hours. After charging, the charging cable should be unplugged. To use the fog blaster, riders need to press and hold down the water tank buttons while pouring water into the water tank, releasing the buttons once the tanks are filled. Overfilling is to be avoided.
Before riding the Raptor, a pre-ride checklist is crucial for safety. This includes ensuring the hoverboard's battery is fully charged, all screws and nuts on the Raptor are tightly secured, the hoverboard's tires are not worn, all connections on the hoverboard are maintained, and the hoverboard is calibrated and running properly. Any issues found should be corrected before riding.
Operating the Raptor involves understanding its functions. Riders should practice at slower speeds in a flat, open area before venturing into other spaces. To move forward, riders firmly grip both handlebars and slowly push them downward simultaneously. To brake, both handlebars are pulled upwards simultaneously. Riding in reverse involves stopping the hoverboard and then slowly pulling both handlebars upwards simultaneously. Turning left is achieved by pushing the right handlebar down and pulling the left handlebar up, while turning right involves pushing the left handlebar down and pulling the right handlebar up.
Safety precautions are extensively covered, emphasizing common sense and adherence to local laws. Riders are advised to always wear a helmet, obey traffic laws, maintain a safe distance from other riders, ride defensively, and give pedestrians the right-of-way. They should avoid riding too close to pedestrians, slow down at intersections, and obey all traffic signals. Hand signals are recommended for turning and stopping, and riders should be aware of cars and potential hazards like potholes. Riding on soft road edges, gravel, sand, and uneven surfaces requires caution and slow speeds. Stunts, racing in traffic, weaving, and hitching onto other vehicles are strictly prohibited. The manual also warns that crashes can cause stress fatigue on components, leading to failure and serious injury. Riding in wet weather is discouraged due to potential damage to electronic components and increased stopping distances. The product is not intended for use on roads or highways unless local laws permit, and adult supervision is required. Riders must wear appropriate protective gear, check assembly pieces before each ride, avoid sharp turns that could cause overturning, and not operate near bodies of water. Only one rider is allowed at a time, and shoes must always be worn.
