MDS600 and D6000disk enclosure port information
The MDS600 and D6000 have two drawers that contain drives. From the front of the device,
drawer number one is on the left of the device; from the rear of the device, drawer number 1 is
on the right. As shown in the following illustration:
• I/O modules: Each drawer can support two I/O modules.
Top I/O module: Primary I/O module◦
◦ Bottom I/O module: Secondary I/O module
• SAS Ports: Each I/O module has two SAS ports. Use these SAS ports to connect to 6Gb SAS
BL switches.
The SAS ports are referred to as follows:
◦ Bottom SAS port: port 1
◦ Top SAS port: port 2
