      If your HP Laptop is not loading the operating system from the hard drive, and you see a nonsystem disk message, try reseating the external hard drive. You can also change the boot priority through the Setup Utility and reboot. Other solutions include creating a partition, formatting the hard drive to a bootable C:\ prompt, loading the OS using an Operating System disc, installing the OS and rebooting, cleaning for viruses, or fixing bad sectors.
