12. The printer will now test the Rewinder with the Spindle moving in a open loop in the opposite
direction, after the test the following message is displayed:
13 . Press the cancel key to repeat the test, or press OK to continue the test.
14 . Press OK to continue. The front panel displays the following test, the printer now tests the friction in
rewinder with media loaded.
15. The results of the test are displayed on the front panel., press any key to finish the test.
3.2 Drive Roller
Description
The purpose of this test is to diagnose a failure in the operation of components related to the Driver roller.
You must perform the Paper Drive Test after:
• System Error Code 81:YX.
• System Error Code 41:YX.
• System Error Code 73:YX.
Procedure
1. Go to Diagnostic test>Substrate Path Menu>3.2 Drive Roller.
2. The Front Panel will display the various electrical subsystems being initialized in order to perform the
test, if there is a failure at this point the Front Panel will display a system error, troubleshoot the
system error using Chapter 3: System Error codes.
If there is no system error code displayed on the Front Panel but the Printer hangs up and the last
message on the Front Panel is “Booting up the Carriage” this would indicate that the Carriage ASIC
could not be detected. Troubleshoot this problem using the system error 02.1:10

NOTE: IF POSSIBLE ALWAYS PERFORM THIS TEST BEFORE REPLACING ANY
COMPONENT OF THE MEDIA-AXIS.
