6. Carriage Menu
6.1 Carriage PCA
Procedure
1. Go to Diagnostic test>6. Carriage Menu>6.1 Carriage PCA.
Description
This test performs specific routines on the Carriage PCA to check for any problems. If a failure is detected,
the printer will display a system error code which can be used to troubleshoot the problem.
6.2 Color Sensor
Description
The purpose of this test is to troubleshoot an error with to the Color Sensor Test. The test checks the values
measured by the sensor and compares them to what is expected, if the values are different the test is failed.
Procedure
1. Go to Diagnostic test>6. Carriage Menu>6.2 Color Sensor Test.
2. The Front Panel will display the various electrical subsystems being initialized in order to perform the
test, if there is a failure at this point the Front Panel will display a system error, troubleshoot the
system error using Chapter 3: System Error codes.
If the SOL is disabled, the Front Panel will ask you if you want to enable the SOL, select Yes.
3. The following message is displayed on the Front Panel, press any key to continue.
4. The Color Sensor information is read and the following message is displayed on the Front Panel,
press any key to continue.
NOTE: We do not recommend using this test to measure the white of media, as there is a
high risk of a jam occurring due to the vacuum being turned off, use the test color Sensor test
shown on page 193.
