Aerosol
The aerosol subsystem collects and filters out the aerosol
generated when the Printhead spits. It consists of two
filters and a fan.
The impact filter is a 25 pores per inch open cell foam
filter. This is designed to negate heavy aerosol and it
works by impacting the aerosol droplets. The ink
accumulate in this filter drains into the receptacles
underneath the aerosol fan holder.
The main filter is a fiber sheet filter, designed to absorb
most of the aerosol as it reaches it. To achieve a longer
life out of this filter, the impact filter is placed before the
main filter.
