Before removing the system board, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 32).
2. Remove the bottom cover (Bottom cover on page 32).
3. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 41).
4. Remove the fan (see Fan on page 49).
When you replace the system board, be sure to remove the following components (as applicable) from the
defective system board and install them on the replacement system board:
● Memory modules (see Memory modules on page 33).
● WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 36).
● WWAN module (see WWAN module on page 38).
● Solid-state drive (see Solid-state drive on page 40).
● Heat sink (see Heat sink on page 50).
Remove the system board:
1. Disconnect the following cables from the system board:
● Antenna cables from the WWAN module (select products only) (1)
● Power connector cable (2)
● Camera cable (3)
● Speaker cable (4)
● USB cable (ZIF) (5)
● Display cable (6)
● Card reader cable (ZIF) (7)
● Antenna cables from the WLAN module (8)
● Touchpad cable (ZIF) (9)
