3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see
Battery on page 51).
Remove the service access cover:
1. Position the computer upside down on a flat surface, with the front toward you.
2. Slide the service cover release latch to the right (1), and remove the single security screw (2), if
it has been installed.
3. Slide the service access cover release latch to the right (3) to release the service access cover.
4. Slide the service access cover toward the front of the computer (4) and then remove the cover
(5).
Reverse this procedure to reassemble and install the service cover. When reinstalling the service
cover, install the security screw in the area that is adjacent to the service cover release latch. The
security screw is located on the service cover.
