Printer software
The HP Color LaserJet 5550 series printer includes a powerful suite of software that is easy to install
and use. The print drivers and utilities cover a wide range of operating systems and are localized
in many languages.
The printer ships with the following components on the printing systems software CD:
• Installer/uninstaller
• HP PCL 6 print driver (Windows environments)
• HP postscript level 3 emulation print driver (Windows and Macintosh environments)
• PostScript® printer description (PPD) files
• HP Toolbox
• HP SureSupply

• Driver auto-configuration (in Windows 2000 and XP environments, the printer features
automatic discovery and driver configuration for printer accessories at the time of installation,
including the automatic two-sided printing unit, optional paper trays, and installed DIMMs)
• Driver pre-configuration (lets you create custom installations and copy the printer software onto
disks, your computer’s hard drive, or a network drive)
