Press the print-cartridge-door button to open the print-cartridge door.
Remove the print cartridge, handling it only by its ends.
Squeeze the left side of the pickup-roller cover to release the left retaining tab, then slide it left and up.
Press the two black retaining tabs outward to release the pickup roller from its seat.
Remove the old pickup roller from the printer.
Insert a flatblade screwdriver under the old separation pad and pry it up to remove.
Insert the new separation pad and press down to lock both sides.
Align retaining tabs with grooves and press the pickup roller into its seat until it clicks.
Insert the right retaining tab of the pickup-roller cover into the retaining slot.
Squeeze the left side of the cover and insert the left retaining tab into the slot.
Close the print-cartridge door.
Remove the cassette paper tray (tray 2) from the printer.
Open the automatic two-sided path door on the front of the printer.
Place the printer on the work surface with the front facing up.
Pull the white tabs outward and rotate them up.
Slide the right tab to the right and leave it in position.
Slide the pickup roller assembly to the right and remove the left end cap.
Remove the old pickup roller and save idler rollers.
Insert the left side of the new pickup roller into the left slot.
Insert the right side of the new pickup roller into the right slot.
Place the end cap on the left side, push it right, and rotate the tab down.
Rotate the shaft until the notches engage and it clicks into place.
Push the right tab to the left and rotate the tab downward into position.
Remove the cassette paper tray (tray 2) from the printer.
Remove the two screws securing the separation pad.
Remove the old separation pad assembly and install the new one, replacing screws.
Open the print-cartridge door.
Use a flat-blade screwdriver to release two tabs at the back of the printer.
Lift the cover away from the printer.
Open the print-cartridge door.
Remove tray 2.
Pop the front edge of the right-side cover over the two retaining tabs.
Lift the cover away from the printer.
Remove tray 2.
Remove the left-side and right-side covers.
Remove four screws from the printer.
Tip the printer to rest on its front.
Release the tab at the back of the printer on the right side.
Open the duplex access door.
Slide the cover right to clear the tab on the duplexer tray.
Lift the cover straight up and away from the printer.
Remove the left-side, right-side, and back covers.
Pull the duplexer tray release-tab to release the magnets.
Pull out the duplexer tray.
Remove side covers, back cover, and duplexer tray.
Remove two screws at the back of the printer.
Remove one screw on the left and one on the right side of the printer.
Release the control-panel cable on the left side of the printer.
Lift the top cover off the printer.
Remove covers, disconnect fan cable, unthread wires, remove screws, and unhook clip.
Remove covers, fan, and three screws to lift the duplex-drive gears assembly.
Remove covers, fan, duplex-drive gears, disconnect cable, and remove screw to lift solenoid.
Remove covers, fan, gears, formatter, disconnect cables, and remove screws to release fuser.
