7. Carefully slide the optic assembly to the center of the flatbed and push the shaft out of the assembly
and the flatbed.
CAUTION Avoid touching the optic assembly scanner bulb. Skin oils can damage the bulb
when it is in use and hot.

and drive belt removed from the scanner bed. Note how and where the drive belt engages the optic
assembly. Proceed to the next step to release the drive belt from the optic assembly.
