4. Remove one screw (callout 2) at the left side of the scanner assembly to release the optic assembly
slide bar.

5. Unlock the scanner lock (the lock was engaged when the scanner was removed from the device).
See the warning at the beginning of
Scanner assembly on page 232.
6. Support the optic assembly and slightly move the shaft to the right.
CAUTION Avoid touching the optic assembly scanner bulb. Skin oils can damage the bulb
when it is in use and hot.
