Dump/Restore Errors and Warnings
8156 A parity error occurred on the first end volume label.
A parity error was detected on one of the two end volume labels. The end of
tape is particularly vulnerable to parity errors (the reflective strip, for example,
can cause a bump in the tape, or sudden stopping at the end can cause tape
stretching). The tape format has duplicate end volume labels so that at least
one of them is readable.
8157 A parity error occurred on the second end volume label.

8162 A bad TMF standard labeled tape volume was found.
Tape verification by the dump process detected that the TMF labeled tape
volume contained an error.
8165 File-system error ZART-TKN-TAPEFILEERROR occurred on ZART-
TKN-TAPEOPERATION operation.
A file-system error occurred while a dump or restore process was attempting the
specified operation on the tape drive.
8166 Unable to turn on tape buffering due to insufficient I/O buffer space
(file-system error ZART-TKN-TAPEFILEERROR.
The tape process could not allocate space for buffered mode.
Dump/Restore Errors and Warnings
The dump/restore errors and warnings returned by the TMF dump/restore processes in
the second occurrence of the token ZTMF-TKN-DR-ERROR by TMF events 202 and
203 are listed and described in this section. Some of the dump/restore tape messages
include tokens, others do not. The tokens that might appear in a dump/restore error or
warning message are as follows:
