TouchPad module (includes cable) 924810-001
Before removing the TouchPad, follow these steps:
1. Turn o the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is o or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the following components:
a. Service door (see Service door on page 30).
b. Battery (see Battery on page 31).
c. Base enclosure (see Base enclosure on page 33).
d. Hard drive(s) and internal frame (see Hard drive(s) and internal frame on page 33).
e. Right speaker (see Speakers on page 49).
Remove the TouchPad:
1. Open the zero insertion force (ZIF) connector (1) on the system board to release the TouchPad ribbon
cable.
2. Carefully remove the ribbon cable (2) from the adhesive securing it to the computer.
3. Remove the three Phillips screws (3) that secure the TouchPad.
4. Lift the TouchPad (4) up at an angle, and then remove the TouchPad (5) from the computer.
