Connection
A standard telephone cable is connected as follows:
l The RJ11 connector on one end is connected to a router.
l The RJ11 connector on the other end is connected to an analog telephone or fax machine.

6.10 Optical Fiber
Description
Determine the type and number of optical fibers based on the optical modules used:
l Single-mode optical modules must be used with single-mode optical fibers.
l Multimode optical modules must be used with multimode optical fibers.
l Each optical module with separate Tx and Rx channels must be used with two optical
fibers of the same type.
NOTE
A single-mode optical fiber and a multimode optical fiber have the same appearance but different colors.
A single-mode optical fiber is yellow and a multimode optical fiber is orange.
