Features and Functions Description
Complex Traffic
Classification
During complex traffic classification,
packets are classified by source/
destination address, source/
destination port number, protocol
type, or other attributes. Traffic is
classified based on certain rules and
class-specific behaviors (traffic
control or resource allocation) are
performed on the traffic, enabling
class-based traffic policing, traffic
shaping, and congestion avoidance,
and providing differentiated service to
user services.
l Supports complex traffic
classification configuration in the
ingress direction at UNI-side
interfaces. UNI-side interfaces
include main interfaces, sub-
interfaces, ports+VLANs, trunk
interfaces, and trunk sub-
interfaces.
l Classifies traffic by the source
MAC address, destination MAC
address, ID of the protocol carried
at the link layer, VLAN, and
802.1p priority, which are carried
in Ethernet packet headers.
l Classifies traffic by IP priority/
DSCP/ToS value, source IP
address prefix, destination IP
address prefix, ID of the protocol
carried in IP packets,
fragmentation flag, TCPSYN flag,
TCP/UDP source port number or
port number range, and TCP/UDP
destination port number or port
number range, ICMP flag, and
time range flag, which are carried
with IPv4 packets.
l Supports implementing behaviors
on the classified traffic such as
CAR, Permit/Deny , remarking
COS in the equipment , remarking
user packet priority, traffic
statistics, and configuring service
mirroring.
