The HUION H610PRO V2 (8192) is a professional battery-free graphics pen tablet designed to enhance painting and creative work efficiency. This device allows users to draw and write with precision, mimicking the experience of a pen on paper, and offers a fun and intuitive creative process. It is compatible with both Windows (7 or later) and macOS (10.12 or later) operating systems.
Function Description
The H610PRO V2 functions as a digital drawing and writing tool, translating pen movements and pressure into digital input on a computer. It features a battery-free stylus pen with 8192 levels of pressure sensitivity, eliminating the need for charging the pen. The tablet includes a work area where pen input is registered, along with customizable press keys and soft keys for quick access to various functions. An LED indicator on the tablet provides visual feedback on its status. The device connects to a computer via a Mini USB cable.
Usage Features
Holding and Positioning the Pen:
Users should hold the stylus pen like a normal pen or pencil, adjusting their grip to easily access the side switch with their thumb or forefinger. Care should be taken to avoid accidentally pressing the side switch while drawing. When not in use, the pen should be placed in its case or on the desk, not on the tablet surface, to prevent interference with other cursor positioning equipment or keeping the computer from entering sleep mode.
To position the cursor, the pen is moved slightly above the tablet's active area without touching it, and the cursor on the screen will move accordingly. A selection is made by pressing the pen tip onto the screen. A single tap registers a click, which can be used to highlight or select an item, while a double-tap opens it. To move an object, it is selected, and then the pen tip is slid across the screen.
Pen Buttons:
The stylus pen features two customizable buttons. These buttons can be used when the pen tip is within 10mm of the tablet's active area, and it is not necessary for the pen tip to touch the tablet to activate them.
Working Area Setting:
The tablet's working area can be configured to define the mapping between pen movement on the tablet and cursor movement on the monitor. By default, the entire active area of the tablet maps to the entire monitor. For multiple monitor setups in extended mode, users can select the specific monitor to which the tablet should map. In mirror mode, the tablet maps to the entire space on each monitor, and the screen cursor is displayed simultaneously on all monitors.
Users can choose between "Full Area," which uses the entire active area of the tablet (the default setting), or "Customized Area." For a customized area, users can either input coordinate values or drag the corners of a foreground graphic on the driver interface to select the desired screen area.
Rotating Working Area:
The working area can be rotated by 0°, 90°, 180°, or 270° to accommodate left-handed or right-handed operation, providing flexibility for different users.
Press Keys and Soft Keys Function Setting:
The tablet's press keys and soft keys are customizable. Default values can be found by hovering the cursor over a key or clicking it. To customize a key, users select the desired function from a pop-up dialog box and then click "APPLY" or "OK." The press keys and soft keys can also be enabled or disabled by checking or unchecking the "Enable Press Keys" and "Enable Soft Keys" options, respectively.
Pen Buttons Function Setting:
Similar to the press keys, the functions of the pen buttons can be customized. Users select the desired function from a pop-up dialog box and click "APPLY" or "OK."
Pressure Sensitivity Setting:
The pen's pressure sensitivity can be adjusted by dragging a slider up or down in the driver interface. A smaller value indicates higher pressure sensitivity.
Pen Pressure Testing:
A "start pressure test" feature allows users to gradually apply pressure with the stylus on the screen to test the pressure level. A "Clear" button is available to clear all ink from the test area.
Windows Ink Feature:
The tablet supports Microsoft Windows Ink features, which are extensively used in applications such as Microsoft Office, Windows Journal, Adobe Photoshop CC, and SketchBook 6. This integration enhances compatibility and functionality within these popular creative and productivity tools.
Maintenance Features
Pen Nib Replacement:
Over time, the pen nib will wear off and require replacement. The process involves:
- Rotating the pen holder anticlockwise to open the cover and retrieve a new nib.
- Inserting the pen nib into the hole at the bottom of the holder and tilting the pen to pull out the old nib.
- Inserting the new nib straight into the pen, pushing it slowly and firmly until it stops.
Cleaning the Tablet:
Before cleaning the tablet, the power cord should be unplugged. The tablet can then be wiped with a soft, damp cloth. It is crucial not to use any kind of detergents or expose the product to water or other liquids, as this can cause malfunction or electrical shock.
Driver Installation and Management:
Users must download the latest driver from the official HUION website. Before installation, any other drivers for similar products, including older versions of the HUION driver, should be uninstalled. All graphics software and anti-virus software should be closed to prevent conflicts. After successful installation, the driver icon will appear in the system tray, changing color when the tablet is connected and recognized.
Data Export and Import:
The driver allows users to export and import their custom configuration data. This feature is convenient for users who work with different software or on multiple systems, as it saves time by avoiding repeated settings adjustments.
Troubleshooting:
The manual provides solutions for common issues, such as lack of pressure sensitivity, non-functional pen or press keys, the computer not entering sleep mode, or the side button of the pen not working. It also addresses system-related problems like the computer not recognizing the tablet or wireless receiver, advising users to check USB port functionality.
General Precautions:
The manual emphasizes reading the user manual carefully and keeping it for future reference. It warns against exposing the product to water or liquids, placing it on unstable surfaces or within easy reach of children (to prevent swallowing small parts), and advises powering off the tablet in locations where electronic devices are not allowed (e.g., airplanes). Disassembling or modifying the tablet or pen is prohibited, as it can cause damage, injury, and void the warranty. When replacing components, only manufacturer-specified substitutes should be used to avoid hazards. Foreign materials should not be inserted into USB ports or other openings to prevent malfunction or electrical shock.
