Switch the unit on. Test the probe for noise and signal levels

referring to the figure above for a suitable test site, (using a
standard probe as a reference).

These must be tested with a MD2-P or FD2-P.
Check that the unit defaults to Fetal Mode, and that the frequency
indication is correct. Test audio performance as above.
