To do a check of the engine oil level
The engine in the product is filled with engine oil for
ambient temperatures of more than 32° F (0° C). For
operation in ambient temperatures of less than 32° F
(0° C), use the correct engine oil to make the product
easier to start. Refer to
Technical data on page 35
.
1. Park the product in level ground.
2. Remove the oil fill cap and dipstick and clean it
with a cloth.
3. Put the dipstick into the oil fill tube. Do not turn
the oil fill cap onto the oil fill tube.
4. Remove the dipstick. Use the gauge on the
dipstick to examine the engine oil level. If
necessary, fill engine oil until the mark “FULL”
on the dipstick is reached. Do not fill too much
engine oil.

5. Put the dipstick into the oil fill tube. Make sure
that the oil fill cap is fully tightened.

To change the engine oil
Note:
All oil must meet API service classification
SJ-SN.
Note: Oil drains more freely when the engine is
warm.
Make sure the product is on a level surface
before you chain the engine oil. Set the possible
temperature range before the oil change.
Collect the oil in an applicable container.
1. Lift the hood.
2. Remove the fastener (A) from the lower dash
cover (B).

CAUTION:
Remove the lower
dash cover (A) carefully to make sure
the cover tabs (C) are not broken.
3. Move the lower dash cover (B) to release the
cover tabs (C) from the tapered slots (D) in the
lower dash cover (B) and then remove.
4. Remove the oil fill cap and dipstick.
CAUTION: Be careful not to
let dirt enter the engine when you
change the oil.
5. Install the drain tube (E) onto the oil drain valve.

6. Turn the valve counterclockwise with a 10 mm
wrench to open the oil drain valve (F).
7. Turn the drain valve clockwise to close it (G)
when the oil is drained.
Note:
Use a 10 mm wrench to apply a small
quantity of torque to keep the drain valve closed.
Do not tighten too firmly.
8. Remove the drain tube (E) and keep it.
9. Fill the engine with new oil through the oil fill
dipstick tube.
Note:
Put oil into the engine slowly. Do
not fill the engine with too much oil. For the

page 35
.
10. Use the gauge on the oil fill dipstick to do a
check of the oil level.
a) Put the dipstick into the tube and let the oil fill
cap touch the top of the tube.
b) Do not tighten the cap onto the tube when
you do an oil level check.
c) Make sure the oil is at the “FULL” line on the
dipstick.
d) Tighten the cap onto the tube tightly when
you complete the check.
