What to do if cutting surfaces are scored on my Hyd-Mech Saw?
    • R
      robert71Aug 10, 2025
If the cutting surfaces of your Hyd-Mech Saw are scored, several factors could be responsible. Begin by replacing the blade if the teeth are worn. Adjust the head downstroke speed, reducing it if it's too fast, or increase the cutting speed if it's too slow. If the blade teeth are too wide, switch to narrower teeth. Ensure the free blade guide head is close enough, leaving only the necessary part of the blade free for cutting. Reset the blade tension to the rated level if it's low. Finally, inspect the blade for broken teeth and replace it if necessary.

What causes broken teeth on my Hyd-Mech S-20DS blade?
    • D
Dr. James Martin DDSAug 26, 2025
If the teeth on your Hyd-Mech Saw blade are breaking, it could be due to several reasons. Reduce the cutting speed if it's too high, and also reduce the downstroke speed if that's too high. Make sure the cutting pressure is set correctly. If the tooth pitch is unsuitable, switch to a blade with a coarser tooth pitch. Check the blade-cleaning coolant jets and brush to prevent swarf from welding to the teeth. If there are material defects, such as oxides or hardened inclusions, consider cleaning or scrapping the materials. Ensure the workpiece is properly clamped to prevent movement during cutting. If the blade stops in the cut, check and adjust the cutting pressure, downstroke speed, and cutting speed, and inspect the flywheels and blade tension.

Why does my Hyd-Mech S-20DS have rapid tooth wear?
    • K
      Kristen RamosNov 2, 2025
If your Hyd-Mech Saw experiences rapid tooth wear, several factors could be at play. Ensure the teeth are correctly oriented. If the blade is new, operate at half-speed for both cutting and downstroke until worn in (approximately 300 cm2 for hard materials, 1000 cm2 for soft). Verify material hardness, adjusting cutting speed, downstroke speed, and blade pressure accordingly. Address material defects like oxides or hardened inclusions by reducing speeds or cleaning the surface. Correct cutting speed if teeth slide without cutting, and increase downstroke speed if the saw runs over the material without removing it. Check coolant levels, clean pipes, and ensure correct fluid concentration. If restarting a partially made cut, use slower speeds due to potential heat-induced alterations. Lastly...

Why are cuts not orthogonal on my Hyd-Mech Saw?
    • A
      Amanda ZavalaNov 17, 2025
If your Hyd-Mech Saw is producing cuts that are not orthogonal or are inclined, begin by reducing the head downstroke speed if it's too fast. Replace the widia inserts if they are worn, and adjust them if they are loose. Ensure the blade guide head is correctly positioned, using the guide plate to expose only the necessary part of the blade for cutting. Check and realign the blade guide heads to ensure the blade is orthogonal to the workpiece rest shoulder, using the adjustment pin at 0?, and set the stops at 45? right and left using the appropriate screws. Verify the perpendicularity of the blade to the work surface by realigning the blade guide heads and adjusting the blade with the appropriate screws. Ensure the blade tension is correct, bringing the pressure up to 60 Bar. Replace the b...
