Overview

The Hygger Planted + 24/7 Aquarium Extendable LED Light is designed to provide optimal illumination for planted aquariums, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of your tank and supporting the healthy growth of aquatic plants and fish. This user-friendly lighting system offers a range of features to create a natural and vibrant environment for your aquatic inhabitants.

Function Description:

The primary function of this LED light is to illuminate planted aquariums with a full spectrum of light, suitable for both plants and freshwater fish. It achieves this through premium 5050 and 2835 LEDs, which deliver bright and consistent illumination. The light is equipped with two main lighting modes: a timer lighting mode and a 24/7 lighting mode, offering flexibility in how you manage your aquarium's light cycle.

The timer lighting mode allows for customizable light colors, intensity, and duration. Users can select from various light colors, including white, red, blue, green, purple, yellow, and cyan, or cycle through a color-changing loop. This mode also features a 100% full-spectrum light option, activated by a simple button press. A key aspect of the timer mode is its ability to program lighting durations for 6, 10, or 12 hours, or to operate without a timer. Once a duration is set, the light will automatically turn on and off at the corresponding times each day. For instance, if you set a 10-hour timer at 9 AM, the light will turn on at 9:00 AM and turn off at 7:00 PM daily. The brightness in this mode is adjustable across 10 stages, ranging from 10% to 100%, allowing for fine-tuning of light intensity to suit specific plant and fish needs. When set up, the light in timer mode will slowly ramp up and down over 15 minutes, mimicking natural transitions. However, it's important to note that this mode requires reprogramming after a power off, as it lacks a memory function.

The 24/7 lighting mode is designed to simulate a natural 24-hour light cycle, promoting a rhythmic environment for your fish. This mode gradually transitions through different light conditions: dim orange light at dawn, bright full-spectrum light during the day, and blue light at night. Once activated, this mode operates automatically, turning on and off at the same time every day without requiring further adjustments. In this mode, the light color and intensity are fixed and cannot be changed. The indicator light on the control panel helps users identify the current time range within the 24/7 cycle. For example, pressing the 24/7 button once sets the light to 8:00, with a red indicator light. Subsequent presses allow selection of 10:00 (green indicator), 12:00 (blue indicator), 15:00 (red indicator), 18:00 (green indicator), and 22:00 (blue indicator). The light will turn off at 22:30 and turn on at 06:00 the next day when this mode is activated at any of these exact hours. The system also intelligently adjusts if the timer is set an hour earlier or later than the actual time, shifting the turn-off and turn-on times accordingly. For instance, if you set the timer to 18:00 at 5:00 PM, the light will turn off at 9:30 PM and turn on at 5:00 AM the next day. This mode operates from 6:00 to 22:30 daily, and programming is not possible between 22:00 and 6:00. Like the timer mode, the 24/7 mode also restores to 6 o'clock after a power outage, necessitating a reset.

Usage Features:

The Hygger LED light is designed for ease of use and adaptability. Its extendable bracket allows it to fit various aquarium sizes within its specified range, making it a versatile option for different tank setups. The light is simple to install; after unpacking and checking for all accessories, users can expand the metal brackets to match their aquarium's length. Connecting the power supply and plugging it in is straightforward, with a crucial reminder to create a drip loop to prevent water from reaching the electrical outlet.

The control interface is intuitive, featuring distinct buttons for power, timer, and brightness adjustment. The power button (M) turns the light on with a single press and off with a long press. The timer button (TIMER) cycles through the 6H, 10H, 12H, and no-timer options, with corresponding indicator lights (red, green, blue) to show the selected duration. The brightness adjustment button (▲) allows users to cycle through the 10 brightness stages in the timer mode. For the 24/7 mode, a dedicated 24/7 button is used to select the desired local time range, with indicator lights guiding the selection.

Maintenance Features:

Maintaining the Hygger LED light is designed to be simple and convenient. The unit features a smooth metal aluminum housing, which can be easily wiped clean with a dry towel. This design helps prevent the accumulation of dirt and makes routine cleaning quick.

However, several important safety and maintenance precautions must be observed to ensure the longevity and safe operation of the device. Users are advised to read the manual carefully and follow all instructions. It is critical to keep the switch away from water, as it is not waterproof, and to keep the light away from flammable items. Before any maintenance, the power must be unplugged. If the light is not working properly, users should unplug it and contact the seller, as opening the unit will void the warranty. The operating temperature range for the light is between 23°F and 113°F.

In terms of electrical safety, users are warned not to immerse the switch in water. If the switch or any part of the light becomes wet, it should not be touched until unplugged. A "drip loop" must be created for the power cord to prevent water from dripping onto the receptacle or plug. If the plug or receptacle gets wet, the power should be disconnected at the fuse or circuit breaker before handling. The light should be carefully examined after installation to ensure no parts intended to be dry are wet. It should not be operated if the cord or plug is damaged, if it malfunctions, or if it has been dropped. The power cord is not replaceable; if damaged, the light must be discarded. Close supervision is necessary when the light is used near children, and moving or hot parts should not be touched. The light must be securely installed before operation, and all important notices on the light should be observed. If an extension cord is needed, it must have a proper rating to avoid overheating. The light is intended for household use only.
