      If the display on your Hygiena Measuring Instruments appears washed out or very dark, the luminometer may be too hot or too cold. The LCD contrast might be incorrectly adjusted, the luminometer may be used in inappropriate lighting conditions, or the luminometer or display may be damaged or faulty.

      Your Hygiena Measuring Instruments luminometer may be turning off unexpectedly because the batteries are low or loose. Other potential causes include if the luminometer was dropped or subjected to shock/vibration, if the luminometer has not been used for 10 minutes (automatically entering standby mode), or if the luminometer is damaged or faulty.

      If the measurement result from your Hygiena Measuring Instruments is always zero RLU or much lower than expected, consider the following: ensure correct use of the testing device, make sure the luminometer is upright when taking a measurement, check if the testing device is out-of-date, turn the luminometer off and back on if used in an unstable thermal environment, ensure the protective pocket or testing device is fully inserted, check the protective pocket (it might be dirty, severely scratched, or damaged), or the luminometer may be damaged or faulty.

If this is not the case, try removing the batteries for 30 seconds and then reinserting them. It's also possible that the luminometer or keypad is damaged or faulty.

Check if the RS232 connector cover is interfering with the lid. Verify that the testing device is correctly and fully inserted. The lid or luminometer casework may also be damaged.
